Each year, Apple offers a special to college students before the school year starts to encourage them to purchase Apple products. In previous years, if you purchased an Apple computer as a college student, you got a free iPod Nano.
It seems that Apple has a surplus of iPod Touch models, as they’ve increased the incentive for buying Apple products.
