
Even in an era of health bots and AI-powered symptom checkers, Americans remain most comfortable in the hands of human expertise.
A new survey out of Grand Canyon University found that 77% of Americans trust human doctors more than AI-based tools when it comes to their health. Only 2% said they trust AI more, but interestingly, 10% said they trust both equally, suggesting that tech is making inroads, even if slowly.
As Apple continues enhancing health features in the iPhone and Apple Watch — from heart monitoring to medication reminders — the role of AI in personal healthcare is growing. Still, the data suggests that while Americans may use these tools, they aren’t quite ready to hand over all the responsibility to machines.
With the rise of digital diagnostics and virtual care, the question isn’t whether AI will play a role in your health, but how much of a role you’ll let it play.
